The World Wide Web and the Internet are not the same thing - the World Wide Web lives “on top of” the Internet. Year 6 will learn why the are not the same and explain the difference in their own words. We will also discuss the worlds first web page and hyperlinks.

Year 6 will begin their second lesson on E-Safety. This week the children will log into a suite of engaging games that address key issues facing kids in today's digital world. Learn critical skills related to digital safety, respect, and community. Each of the five games the children attempt include videos and three levels of gameplay.

For a little bit of downtime this week Year 6 will complete a “Tiger WebQuest”. The children will use the webquest to organise information gathered from the Internet by selecting and recording the data. This will also allow the children to improve their understanding of how to use the Internet by linking to a variety of sites.
This week Year 6 will begin their work on Lego Wedo. The children will work in groups of three and will build and program a mechanical alligator that makes sounds and is motorized to open and close its jaw. Year 6 children will work collaboratively to test and debug their programs.
