This morning our amazing choir entered 2 choral sections at the Rochdale Music festival. They performed 4 songs altogether and performed beautifully. We are so proud to have a 64 children in our choir showing their enthusiasm for music and singing. Amazing Christmas trumpet concert this morning. Year 4 and Year 6 were fantastic and the show went on despite one child's unannounced spontaneous outburst of vomit! Thank you to all parents and Mrs Walsh.
Today Year 1 have been learning about the microphone. They have learnt to record, pause and playback. We have recorded Year 1 singing to Kye Kye Kule an African song from Ghana. This week Year 1 will listen to a traditional folk song from Ghana, West Africa. There are specific movements when performing this song. The children will learn these movements. They will also record their song with the microphone.
The children have spent the last 6 weeks learning a new song called 'John Kanaka!' We had to learn a dance routine and include some wood, and percussion instruments to accompany our song! This was great fun!
