The children enjoyed a lovely morning making things to celebrate the Royal Wedding. At lunchtime there was a delicious party lunch and this afternoon the children talked about British Values. Reception class concentrated on 'Respect' they made a poster that we have displayed in our outside classroom.
This week is World Autism Awareness Week.
We will be holding a cake sale tomorrow (Monday 26th March) all cakes will be 20p.
All money raised will be donated to The National Autistic Society.

Today was Year 3's charity day. We are working to raise money for The Christie Charity. Year 3's created delicious 'Ice Age ice pops' which will be on sale today after school.
As part of our fundraising we also completed a 'Soak the teacher' sponsored run. The children certainly enjoyed getting their own back on their class teachers!!

Fantastic morning with Year 3. They love Scratch. Here they are coding a knock knock joke. It will take a while to upload them to Seesaw as they have to be turned into videos first. Amazing job today Year 3.😄👏🏻
Wonderful afternoon with Year 3. They have started their Scratch unit. Learning sprites, backdrops, Code blocks, shrinking and the ‘wait’ block. As you can see they collaborated so well today and were totally engrossed in their coding. Thank you Year 3.😄😄😄
Year 3 enjoyed a fun PE lesson this week that looked at travelling. We talked about the importance of aesthetics in gymnastics and learned a number of different rolls. We then had fun creating our own sequence and presenting it to the class.
Across the school yesterday we had a fantastic day exploring all things Maths! We were given lots of opportunities to use our fantastic problem solving and reasoning skills. In Year 3 we completed a carousel of activities. We looked at Thinking Tom questions and mastery questions that we worked in Kagan pairs to solve. We completed a Tarsia puzzle...
This term Year 3 will be looking at Rocks and Soils. To kick start our topic we did an experiment to identify the properties of some rocks. We worked in groups to test how hard the rocks were and how permeable. We recorded our results in a table.
