  • Year 4 - English Children are writing excellent explanation texts to inform people of the different layers of the rainforest. Well done
  • Year 4 had beautiful music lesson this morning with Mrs Walsh. We have started playing and singing Christmas songs!

  • Year 4 have been working hard in RE this afternoon. The children have been working in groups to order Christmas card themes from 'most important' to 'least important'. The children discussed their reasons and ideas before writing their explanations.
  • Thank you to Naomi from Hope Mill Theatre for teaching us the rules used for improvisation in drama to put an interesting story together.
  • Well done to the children in Year 4 for completing their Work Faith Homework researching and learning about the different Holy Books.
  • As part of Inter Faith Week Mrs Miah taught KS2 about the Islamic beliefs and in Year 4 we focused on learning about the Qur'an. Thank you Mrs Miah.
  • We have developed our understanding of meditation. We are excited to continue our meditation journey.
  • Last animation lesson this term for Year 4. Today the children used the app I Can Animate to successfully create wonderful animations. Learning such skills as FPS, onion skinning and uploading to Seesaw.
  • An amusing Computing afternoon in Year 4. The children have made their very own silly ChatterPix. They are also collecting facts about Middleton, ready to put into their Balloon Stickies + app next week. Well done Year 4.
  • As part of our topic 'Where I Live: Greater Manchester' and to link with our class text 'The Primrose Railway Children', we went on a steam train journey from Bury to Rawtenstall.
  • Our fabulous Year 4 have continued their PuppetPals work all about Middleton. They are looking great! Math work today was the fantastic King of Maths. Well done Year 4.
  • The children attended house assemblies and made notes about what they learned about each Saint before sharing with their peers. Well done Year 4.
  • Welcome back to our first Computing lesson Year 4. The children have been busy playing, preparing and planning for their animation unit using PuppetPals. Great work Year 4.
  • Year 4 have enjoyed their afternoon learning about Our Lady and linking beliefs with traditions. The children worked hard to write their prayers before offering them to Mary in the prayer garden. They then made a lily for Mary's birthday.
  • Year 4 were intrigued today to learn about Artificial Intelligence (ai) The children learnt that ai is teaching computers how to think. Today they used the Seeing ai app.
  • Year 4 have had a lovely Computing afternoon. Playing board games and quizzes. These types of games help the children by increasing brain function, encouraging team work and math skills. Well done Year 4.
  • The children in Year 4 have celebrated Saint John Fisher. They have learned information about his life, they created their own portrait of St John Fisher and they attended a whole school mass to celebrate his life.
  • Sharing Special Time (1 Corinthians 10:16-17)
  • Year 4 have been creating their own profile pictures today. We discussed why it is important to have one, who can see it? and why we do not put our faces on the profile.
  • Year 4 would like to say thank you to our wonderful Year 6 children for teaching us about the Rosary.
  • Year 4 have been working hard in RE this afternoon learning how to pray the Rosary. They have learned about the different beads, what they represent and which prayers to say for each one.
  • Year 4 have been looking at the kinds of foods eaten by the Anglo Saxons. They have created a simple menu of what might have been eaten at the time. Code Blast was used to enhance their coding experiences.
  • The children have finished drawing their dragons and have started to colour them in to look like silhouettes.
  • Today Year 4 drew a mythical Viking dragon for their topic work. They also painted a Viking sprite into Pyonkee and used blocks to code its actions. Well done Year 4
  • Our very clever Year 4 class have had a busy afternoon. They have been using Scratch 3. The children used MS Word to start to learn word processing including font style, size and colour. Year 4 have mastered highlighting text!
  • Year 4 have been exploring games and apps on the laptops and iPads.

  • Year 4 have been working hard thinking about what is most important during Lent and discussing their ideas.
  • Year 4 have had a wonderful morning drawing and painting Roman villas with Huge Templeton. Every child succeeded and enjoyed creating their own pieces of art. Well done Year 4!
  • During our RE lessons we have been learning about what happens during the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
  • Logging the temperature of the sun on a given day, labelling a Roman Soldier and learning about the disaster which occurred in Pompeii. All in an afternoons work for Year 4. Well done everyone
  • Year 4 had a fantastic time today drawing their version of a Roman Soldier. The children put a lot of effort into their drawings with wonderful results.
  • Year 4 completed a one hour sponsored silence to raise money for the Salford Royal Hospital. The children enjoyed themselves so much that they have asked if we can do this every Friday! Well done Year 4, we are very proud of you all!
  • The children have explored their new RE topic 'Giving and Receiving' and they have used the Bibles to find 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 to learn about the Eucharist.
  • The children have also created word clouds for Valentines Day
  • Year 4 have used the Green Screen to show their knowledge of The Romans
  • Year 4 have had a wonderful day celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany.
